Lenny leads the knights, Jordan and Johnna, into the Palemare Barony. At first the region seemed normal. beautiful countryside. Sounds of nature, well maintained roads, and healthy fields. This last till they hit the first fortified inn. While it appears maintained they couldn't find anyone there, not even guards. Lenny asks "Is it known there is an inn without staff or guards?" Johnna replies "no. Last we heard from anyone was that they were all well staffed. Honestly with how the buildings look and all the gear left behind it's more like they are just suddenly disappeared" They hear Jordan from across the grounds "you two need to see this!" They make their way to the other side. Once they cross the gates threshold the image before them suddenly changes. The area looks blighted. They could hardly see any plants and the roads severally damaged. The sky a gloomy grey as small patches of fog lay about the ground. Lenny speaks "No human should be able to hide this so well. Come on. We can only find out more at her estate."

Lenny's fears only worsened when they had to pass through the village of Rishi. Jordan says hardly believing his eyes "this is so much worse than the empty inn." Amongst the dilapidated buildings lay the villagers. All of them dead part way through their daily tasks. They looked through out the entire village for any survivors and found none. An inspection of the bodies revealed no obvious signs of injury or sickness. In fact as far as they could tell they were all alive a few hours ago. Jordan headed into the nearby feild and inspected it. Lenny soon followed after him and asks "find something?" Jordan stands "ya. We were wrong about the fields being blighted. There are no signs of disease. I think they just died alongside the peop..." The leaves on all the trees suddenly fall. Jordan says "I think we need to hurry." Lenny nods "Indeed. It's like life is losing it's ability to live here. There is no telling if we are safe." The three beeline to the town of Palemare. Sleeping only when they absolutely had to. By the time they reached it the only life they have seen is grass and even that has had patches suddenly die before their eyes.

As they walk through the dead town Johnna makes an observation. "There aren't any guards amongst the dead." Lenny stops to look around "indeed. Best to keep our guard up." They cautiously open the main door to Rena's estate to find a pink haired woman with broken blue eyes, though one of them is covered by an eyepatch, wearing a maid's attire. The maid bows and speaks with a single tone. "Welcome to Palemare Manor esteemed guess. I am Lu. I am to assist you in what ever you acquire. Please forgive the state of everything. The baroness is away and so is everyone else, except for those that died anyway, I alone stayed to attend to our final guests."  Lenny asks "What happened?" She asks "to me or the barony?" "Both."

The maid speaks of events after Rena's father died. Rena taxed everything from the people. When they couldn't' pay she would take their property. It wasn't long till she literally owned everything and everyone in the barony. People who disobeyed were executed, those who couldn't perform were sold to Tash'Gerran, inconvenience her and you disappeared under the manor, strike her fancy and she took you as a toy. She says "I obeyed her at first because if I didn't she would have killed my family. She did what you might consider horrible things to me and made me do them to myself and others. She even ordered me to gouge out my own eye once when she was bored. When I did she informed me that she slaughtered my family then left me alone in the cells of days. It was then I finally realized we commoners are not people. I was wrong for ever thinking Rena evil when she was one of the few that was an actual person" Lenny could hardly beleive what he was seeing and hearing. A species that survived and thrived after the planesgate disaster could be that broken? Johnna says "I think I might be sick" Lenny asks "Why does everything here looked as if it suddenly died" "The curse of Krimer." Lenny's eyes widened "She not only knew of it but had it used!!" The maid nods "On everyone but me. The head maid never informed me why. But what does it matter? We are mere things to be used by the real people." Johnna asks "why did no one flee?" "Some tried. All of them came back in pieces. Beasts and toys that run from their master deserve such a fate." Jordan asks "what about merchants?" "I don't know. I never saw any." Lenny asks "I almost hate to ask but, is there more?" Lu nods "yes. Follow me." The maid led the three far below into the dark halls below the manor. They passed by many rooms, most of which were vast treasure hoards and dungeon cells. Johnna asks "why aren't any bodies down here?" Lu answers "the baroness used them in her favorite entertainment before leaving for the capitol." Jordan asks "Do we want to know?" "Based off your reactions so for no." She then leads to a grand arena that had a massive cage on one side. They see a massive mutant monstrasity in the cage. Jordan asks "what is that? It's the size of a building." Lenny says "A consumed theribane." "I have never heard of one that doesn't look at least half what they did in life." "That's because in Amazonia you knights take out consumed theribane as soon as they appear. They mutate more and more adding the biomass of their food to themselves till they look nothing as they did. They then grow in size and power." Johnna asks "how did they build all this or be able to contain that theribane?" Lu says "That would be Meg. She has extremely powerful magic. As the head maid she wielded for what ever Baroness Palemare desired." Lenny asks "Was she the one that casted the Curse of Krimer?" "Yes." Lenny's eyes narrow "Take the maid to the nearest garrison then rally the knights to seal off the Palemare Barony. I need to see an acquaintance." Jordan asks "Why seal?" Lenny states "if i am right about what meg is then that curse may have been altered which might increase the chance of the victims coming back as Shikibane or just zombies set to attack. I will see you all at the capitol."
